Liquitex, Marker, Markers, Natasha Fitzpatrick, Paint Marker, Paint Markers -

So my new year has begun with a glorious new courier in the mail and the package is rather big so naturally I’m excited. Once opened, inside is a metal tin with a window on the front so you can get a peek at what’s inside. What I see are 12 markers of bright colours and 3 larger markers in black, white and silver. I have in my hot little hands the Liquitex Paint Markers. Now I’m super excited to give these a try as I absolutely love drawing, painting is fun too but I have to try a lot harder at...

Acrylic Paint, Beginner, Educational, Global, Student -

With so many colours, types and brands of acrylic paint out there, how do you know where to start?  What style you want to paint in and of course how much you want to spend.  Preferred mediums and brands are going to vary from artist to artist. How To, Jan Thomson, Limited Palette, Maimeri, Paint, Water Colour Paint -

Continuing on from my two colour palette … Next, using three Maimeri colours you can create an exciting colour range to work with. All you need is one yellow, one red and one blue. The first example is a warm palette, using Terra de Sienna, Blu Oltre Marie Chiaro and Rosso Pyrrolo – together these form a soft green, a fiery orange and a greyish purple. They also mix to make a beautiful warm grey and a luscious purple /black. The second trio is a cool one – Blu de Fainza, Gilallo Primario and Rosso Magenta – this is pretty...

Whether you are a traditionalist, and love the old style calligraphy, or you are keen to embrace modern calligraphy - there is no limit to what you can do. I prefer Modern Calligraphy as it doesn’t adhere to traditional rules, which is perfect for those people who find the traditional calligraphy rules a little stifling. However...

Blue, Canson, Jan Thomson, Maimeri, Paint, Water Colour Paint -

Well, that’s not quite true, but if I had to choose just two pigments to take to my desert island they would be Ultramarine Blue and Burnt Sienna. With these two I can make warm and cool greys, soft underpaintings and juicy darks as well as the clear bright clear colours that they are when used solo. For this little sketch I used Maimeri Blu Oltremare Chiaro and Terra Di Siena Bruciata (don’t they sound good in Italian?). These two colours are my essentials in any brand, so it’s good to compare Maimeri with the others I’m more familiar with....
